Metropolitan center
TBD / TBD / $
When MetLife decided to get into the development business, the approached TVS. Our client entrusted us with the design of a mixed use office tower and along with a partnership with another firm to wok on the residential tower. Our design studio of two Principals, one Project Manager and myself began the process of creating the ideal center situated on the very busy 17th Street of Atlanta. This would be the gateway between Atlanta's trendy Atlantic Station and Midtown area. The height of the office tower fluctuated, but eventually settled at 25 stories. With retail at the base, including a high-end restaurant, the street level would be ideal for pedestrians traveling to the shops of Atlantic Station. The curvature of the facade is a compliment to the curved street below. The design of the tower was to be a LEED Silver certified design. In doing this, we were able to convince the MetLife team to make every effort to keep the 100 year old oak tree on the street corner. I worked on every aspect of this project from design to documents and BOMA calculations and 3D modeling and rendering.
